New York, NY – February, 2010. Holistic Primary Care, the nation's premier holistic medical news publication has extended core elements of their print publication to a newly redesigned Web site. The new site includes blogs by leading holistic health care thinkers, a complete archive of all printed articles, breaking news, and links to related health care news. In addition to its new look and feel, the site’s architecture was built to facilitate easier navigation and findability. Also, the site was built on an open-source content management system so that is scalable and easy to administrate.

"Until now, our site has been little more than an online archive of articles we've published in the print editions of Holistic Primary Care. But we know it can be so much more. We want to make it much more interactive, engaging, and easy to use, so that it can truly serve as an online meeting place for physicians and for the health-conscious community at large," says Meg Sinclair, Holistic Primary Care's publisher.
The complete, top-to-bottom site renovation was implemented by the innovative team at Userking Information Architects. "Userking has a great design sense, combined with deep understanding of current web platforms. And as their name implies, they think like website users rather than programmers," Ms. Sinclair says. "The result is a greatly enhanced experience."
Holistic Primary Care began as a magazine designed to offer information and research results on holistic and alternative medicine. Founded in 2001, it now has a circulation of more than 100,000 physicians. The company's magazine and a newly redesigned Web site provide health-conscious readers and health care professionals a credible source of scientifically-sound information on natural medicine and holistic health care. Most of the company’s content comes from continuing medical education conferences at which practitioners of natural medicine share science and clinical experience with their colleagues. This is augmented by investigative reporting on the politics and economics of holistic medicine.
By simultaneously serving both the medical community and the general public, HPC is helping to put doctors and their patients on the same page about natural and preventive medicine. In doing so, HPC hopes that in some small way, they are helping to heal the patient-practitioner relationship to the benefit of all.
